This Privacy Policy explains how Free PDF Convert (“we,” “us,” or “the Service”), available at freepdfconvert.ai, collects, uses, and protects information when you use our PDF tools and AI features.

1. Files you upload

When you use a conversion tool or the Chat with PDF feature, the file you upload is transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and processed to produce your result. We do not use your documents for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than performing the task you requested.

We do not retain your uploaded files or converted results long-term. Files handled by our conversion provider are automatically deleted from their processing servers a few hours after conversion. We do not build a permanent archive of your documents.

2. Third-party processing

To provide our features, your file or its contents are sent to the following third-party services solely to perform the requested operation:

• ConvertAPI — performs document conversions and transformations (e.g. PDF to Word, merge, compress). Files are transmitted to ConvertAPI for processing and deleted per their retention policy.
• Cerebras— powers the AI “Chat with PDF” feature. For this feature, text extracted from your PDF is sent to Cerebras to generate answers to your questions.

These providers process data under their own privacy and security terms. We encourage you to review their policies. Do not upload documents containing information you are not authorized to share with third-party processors.

3. Information we collect

We aim to collect as little as possible. Depending on configuration, we may collect:

• Basic technical data — such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps, used for security, abuse prevention, and to keep the Service running.
• Aggregate usage data — such as which tools are used, to understand and improve the Service. This does not include the contents of your files.

We do not require an account to use the conversion tools, and we do not sell your personal information.

4. Cookies

We use minimal browser storage (such as remembering that you dismissed a banner). If analytics or advertising are enabled in the future, this section will be updated to describe any cookies used and how to manage them.

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections, to protect data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and minimize what we retain.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing.
